“For us, the role of an emerging brand today is to rethink fashion: how we create, how we produce, how we consume.”
Maël Gicquel: What is the story behind Cachi and the pieces you are presenting today?
CACHI: Today, our two latest collections, FW25/26 and SS26, naturally echo and intertwine. Moving forward, we want to refocus Cachi’s identity around our two core signatures: the allure of the Argentine gaucho and the delicacy of Limoges porcelain.
It all began with a book retracing the archetype of the gaucho, the layered silhouettes, functional volumes, a poncho thrown over shorts… We wanted to reinterpret this heritage with a contemporary, almost urban eye.
The palette stretches from beige to grey, with touches of white, denim, and green. Colors that evoke both nature and the workwear spirit inherent to the gaucho. This “work” dimension meets the finesse of porcelain, which we translated through subtle shades of white and grey.
For the motifs, we drew inspiration from traditional floral patterns on Limoges porcelain, reimagining them through the passion flower, a species native to Argentina. It has become our signature blossom, embroidered throughout the collection, gradually embodying the essence of Cachi.
MG: What do you consider essential values for an emerging brand today?
C: For us, the role of an emerging brand today is to rethink fashion: how we create, how we produce, how we consume. We don’t want to encourage accumulation. Instead, we aim to offer pieces that live over time, connecting naturally from one season to the next.
Each collection is conceived as a chapter that aligns with the following one, a growing wardrobe where nothing expires, neither in quality nor in style.
Our goal is to create durable, responsible, truly timeless pieces.
We produce in France and nearby Europe to highlight local craftsmanship and artisanal manufacturing. Part of our pieces are also developed in Argentina, in collaboration with artisans specialized in tuftage, a traditional Argentine knitting technique we are committed to preserving.
At Cachi, each piece is made in very small quantities or made-to-order. This intentionally controlled rhythm prevents overproduction and waste. And even if stock takes time to sell, we refuse the logic of sales: we defend a fair, stable value that endures beyond seasons.
MG: You won the AMIxIFM Prize in 2023. What were the outcomes for you?
C: Winning the prize in 2023 didn’t come with financial support, but with something far more valuable: guidance from the AMI team and each member of the jury.
Being able to exchange with them was a real opportunity; they came from diverse backgrounds, sometimes far from fashion, and each offered a unique perspective. Their advice was truly decisive.
This support allowed Cachi to evolve from a project into a fully realized brand, capable of developing and linking coherent collections.
One of the most significant benefits was the creation of a strong professional network, a crucial support system for the launch and for what comes next.
It gave us confidence, a new assurance in the direction we were taking, guided by expert feedback and meaningful conversations with the jury.
MG: Where does the name CACHI come from?
C: CACHÍ is the name of a small village in Argentina, where Belén’s family is from.
MG: What’s next for you?
C: In January, we will present our collection at Pitti Uomo in Florence, and we’ll be returning in June as well, an exciting opportunity for visibility and expansion.
We’ll also host our very first presentation in Paris in January, a key step in our development.
At the same time, we’re strengthening our showroom network to expand our community and increase our visibility.
MG: How does your duo work? How do you organize yourselves?
C: The creative and conceptual process is built together. Of course, we sometimes disagree, but good communication and the ability to set ego aside create real balance in our work.
Belén focuses more on the brand’s image, while Élise is more involved in production. But overall, we do everything together: we live together, we work together, and our daily life is fully shared. Communication is truly the foundation of how we operate. We are constantly aligned, and that’s what allows us to move forward smoothly and coherently.
MG: Which it-boys, designers or personalities inspire you?
C: We dream of dressing A$AP Rocky, Jackson Wang, Kelly Wrestler, Vassily Schneider, or Timothée Chalamet.
They’re silhouettes that take risks, experiment, and shift boundaries; personalities whose attitude and stylistic freedom naturally resonate with Cachi’s universe.
MG: Last crush of both?
C: Each other.
