What’s the first thing you think of in the morning?
The first thing I think of is what hot drink I want. I like to start my day with a hot water, so it’s usually that, but if I’m feeling adventurous it would be a lemon & ginger tea.
If your life had a soundtrack, what song must be on it?
One of the songs that would definitely be on my soundtrack is Bob Marley – One Drop or Bob Marley – Jamming.
Can you describe your experience on The Underground Railroad?
Being a part of The Underground Railroad was an enormous honor, especially to have the opportunity to tell this story with the incredible creatives and artists that I worked with and I’m truly thankful for the experience. Working with Barry was a dream come true. It was such a privilege to be a part of this unit and this family. We all had the same objective, to tell the story as truthfully and authentically as possible and to honor those who lived through this experience and their magnitude of strength.
I know you can’t say much about the film Old, but what makes you feel old?
The cartoons that I used to watch as a kid aren’t on TV anymore
What makes you feel young?
Laughing, smiling and spending time with my loved ones
What’s next for you?
Old, a movie I did with the genius that is M. Night Shyamalan, which is in theatres around the world, this summer, I’m very excited for audiences to engage with it
