The Body, directed by Vincenzo Alfieri, is described as a psychological thriller. How did you prepare for the role?

It’s been a terrific experience. I’ve never worked on a story like this… it’s tricky, full of turning points, and there’s a lot at stake in every scene. I was excited, but also felt a great deal of responsibility. Fortunately, Vincenzo is a great director and a wonderful human being. We talked a lot about the story and Bruno, and he was always available to help with any doubts I had. This really set me free to try different things and enjoy the experience. I’m so glad I took part in this wonderful project.

Let’s talk about Bruno. How did you study the character?

Well, Bruno is ambitious, smart, and sharp but also selfish. He wants to be special, important, and great—no matter the cost. I tried to understand where this need came from, so I read the script over and over again and created a backstory—events that shaped him into the man he is. Then, I focused on his behavior and brought it into the story. It was a deep, creative experience.

How hard was it to interpret the character?

It’s challenging because you must build a rich inner world of memories, desires, and secrets, but then you need to hide it all. Bruno is someone who wants to act fast, but he has to stay calm and play the detective game throughout the entire story.

How did being on a film set change between the first and second experience?

In the first experience, everything was new for me… I didn’t even know I had a dressing room! Over time, I got to know the crew better and understood everyone’s roles. I became better at managing my time, but of course, every movie is different—different story, different people, different energy. I’m lucky to have felt calm and at ease with this team.

How would you compare Pietro and Bruno?

Pietro is shy, sensitive, always lost in his thoughts, and afraid of the world around him. Bruno is the opposite: angry, focused, fast, and ambitious. They both have scars in their souls, but their behaviors are completely different.

In Nuovo Olimpo the song “je t attends”, by Charles Aznavour, is about waiting for the return of a loved one. Which song would you pick for a 2024 love story?

I’m in love with Alex Britti’s song ‘Oggi Sono Io’ right now. It’s not a new song, but I understand it in a new way at this point in my life.

How has the success of the movie changed your daily life?

It changed everything. I used to struggle to find time in my daily life to act and pursue my dream. Now, I can dedicate the whole day to it—which is, in fact, the dream. But I also know I still have a lot to learn about this craft.

Being a musician yourself, what is your connection to soundtracks in the movies you work on?

Music is a big part of the process. I love working with music because it’s the quickest and most powerful way to affect our mood. After reading the script, I often feel a certain way and look for a song that can bring me back to that feeling throughout my preparation. It’s a beautiful moment of creation.

Did anyone in your family play an instrument? How did your passion for music come alive?

It all started when I was 11 and went to a Deep Purple concert with my father. I remember being mesmerized by the drummer. He was so fast, coordinated, and spectacular. The next year, I started playing with a drummer, thinking that this could be my future.

What is the first thing you do in the morning?

I eat! That’s my first thought in the morning: Where are my eggs and my coffee?

What are you the most proud of?

I’m proud that I didn’t give up, even though I know my journey is just beginning, and there’s still so much more to learn.

Do you have a secret crush?

Not at this point in my life… everything is clear now. I’m not hiding anything. I’m trying to be honest with myself and pursue what makes me feel alive. Luckily, the person by my side right now is actually my crush.
