Courrèges FW25: Confetti at the Carreau du Temple

“Something for your mind, your body, and your soul. It’s the power to arouse curiosity . . . the ultimate seduction.” This line from C’hantal’s “The Realm”—the soundtrack for the show—perfectly sums up Nicolas Di Felice’s Courrèges. Since his appointment in 2020, Di Felice has reimagined the 1960s retro-futuristic fashion into sexy club-ready clothes for the chic and nocturnal. As someone with great style and a penchant for nightlife, his work speaks directly to me.

Like previous Courrèges shows, their fall 2025 show was held at the Carreau du Temple in Paris. Each season, the set is a stark white landscape, so I was shocked to see a bed of pink, red, and blue confetti in the center of the space. Vibrant color at a Nicolas Di Felice show is practically unheard of! Between the confetti, the show starting at 10:30 am, and the techno music loudly pumping through the speakers, it felt more like an after-hours party than a fashion show.

The first model to walk into the sea of confetti wore a scarf dress that zigzagged over all the right spots, thanks to an invisible sheer panel of fabric. She had alien-like eyelashes that looked like propellers. Last season, hands were perversely placed in front crotch pockets. This season, they were clutching the new Courrèges bag, which is worn like a glove. The Courrèges woman doesn’t have time to carry an oversized bag on her shoulder because she is too busy dancing on the dance floor.

Collars, dresses, and skin-tight tops in leather gave the collection a kinky edge. An asymmetrical coat paired with black vinyl thigh-high boots was reminiscent of a costume worn by Amanda Donohoe in the 1988 film, The Lair of the White Worm. From afar, one model appeared nude besides her leather oblique skirt and pantaboots, but upon further inspection, she was wearing a flesh-colored tube top. Di Felice knows the power of suggestion and how to seduce an audience.

As the show progressed, Di Felice’s ultramodern extravagances captivated the runway. Courrèges muse, Loli Bahia sported a single ostrich feather as a top. Much like the scarf dress, it was carefully held together with invisible fabric. Another house favorite, Lulu Tenney stomped through the confetti in a dress made of silver sequin-like grommets. The closing look was a white dress wrapped around the model like a space blanket, because who needs arms when you look that fierce? When the models did their final walk-through, the confetti levitated off the ground, creating a glitching storm of color. Minutes after the show ended, everyone’s Instagram stories were flooded with videos of this moment.
