Tell us about Beta Teen
– Beta Teen is a creative concept and think piece on ‘reimagination’ and ‘reclamation.’ It serves as a community space inspired by nostalgia from visual media of the 90s. When it started, I saw myself as a Powerpuff Girl and went from there.
Whats your philosophy on skincare?
The ritual skincare creates with consistency. During that time, I’m attentively caring for myself, connecting with my body, and ultimately re-centering myself. It becomes a spiritual practice to get in touch with myself at the start and end of my day.
What is one thing about Guyana that everyone must know?
Pholourie: one of the best pastries.

If your life thus far had a soundtrack, what song must be on it?
Describe your favorite smell? (hint it can a favorite dish, perfume, a favorite sweater, etc)
Lavender and eucalyptus <3 in terms of scent, but any of my grandma’s home-cooked Guyanese dishes give me the same feeling.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is expression. It is a transformative experience that can change how you see yourself and how the world sees you. To me. beauty is my ability to transform and perform my appearance as a way of self-expression. At the moment, my favorite medium is hair/braid construction.
Describe a recent dream.
Dream to reality: having my own space to call home. Grateful to be dreaming of new dreams.
