“Being on stage, singing my songs, is like being fully naked in front of an audience.”

What scares you the most?
Drugs (also zombies).
Do you like seeing pictures of yourself?
Most of the time, I don’t really like it. The more I grow old, the more I see my father in pictures.
Winter readings?
“Los Putos,” a collection of poems and drawings from Ioshua (Terrasses Editions), was a gay punk artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. His works are so beautiful and pure.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Staying home with good food and company on a Friday or Saturday night and not going out.
Which living person do you most admire?
My mum, despite the fact we are really bad at communicating with each other.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
“Bordel” et “Putain”.
What is your most treasured possession?
I live in 15m2, so I am used to not treasuring material possession.
Besides music, you edited an entire fanzine to accompany the release of your previous EP. How did you select the contributors?
The fanzine Chanson de Baise contributors are the protagonists in the music video, each explaining their relationship with their sexuality. The other contributors are authors, illustrators, photographers, musicians, artists, and sex workers, whom I greatly respect. Some of them are friends, and some I follow on Instagram, each having a strong erotic approach to their work.
Do you make eye contact with the audience while performing on stage?
I used to close my eyes a lot. I am learning to make eye contact on stage. It is one of the most intimidating things I have ever had to work on. Being on stage, singing my songs, is like being fully naked in front of an audience.
Any pre-concert rituals?
Besides warming up my voice, obviously, and you might see that as odd, but I don’t masturbate or have intercourse the day before, and the day of the gig, I like to think a concert is a bit powered by sexual energy, so… I prefer to keep it! haha
Where can we see you perform your new songs?
I’ll play with my full band on February 9th at Les Trois Baudets in Paris.
What’s next for you?
I am working on three music videos for this album, I hope I’ll tour a bit, and then I’ll start working on the next LP quite soon, I guess.
